To be selected by the students. 11/3/71 Steering Comm. asked to formulate suggestions for composition and method of appointment of a committee to evaluate operations of a system of student involvement in University Governance as provided in Art. Ix of the Faculty By-Laws. 12/1/71 Seven member committee; four faculty and three students, to be appointed to evaluate the success of student participant in University Governance in accord with Art. IX of the Faculty By-Laws. 5/10/72 The ad hoc Committee's on Student Participation in University Governance report offering recommendations for modifying and improving continued student participation on University committees received and referred to FAC for implementation and modifications with any actions to be referred back to FC. 6/1/72 Art IX of the Faculty By-Laws extended until 1/1/73 to enable FAC to study the matter of student participation in University governance. 5/16/73 Faculty By-laws amendment to bring about student participation in FC, its standing committees, and various college committees approved. 1/8/75 FAC charged with re-studying methods of achieving student participation in University governance. Motion re-affirms FC's belief in the desirability and value of student participation. 3/5/75 FAC reported that no changes were required in the Faculty By-laws to permit student participation. Report supported student participation and recommended that SAC study the problem and submit its recommendations to FC.
