PROPOSAL FOR PROFESSIONAL LEAVE

                                       ABSTRACT


                  I am requesting professional leave for the 1996 Winter
             Quarter in order to investigate, develop and promote the use
             of teaching and student portfolios as strategies to improve
             instructional effectiveness and quality in the College of
             Business Administration.  My time will be spent assembling
             and critically examining the literature, preparing models of
             teaching and student portfolios, presenting these models to
             College administrators and faculty, and revising same for
             final adoption by the College.
